This event aims to equip PhD students and researchers with essential skills in project management and procrastination mitigation to enhance their chances of success in their PhD programs. The event will be conducted on Zoom and will focus on the following key learning objectives:
  • Project Management Strategies and Resources: Participants will learn effective project management strategies to plan and execute their research projects efficiently. This may include, but is not limited to,setting clear goals, creating timelines, and managing resources to ensure PhD success.
  • Strategies to Combat Procrastination: The event will address the common issue of procrastination among PhD students and provide practical techniques to overcome it. Attendees will gain insights into identifying procrastination triggers and implementing time management strategies to stay on track.
By the end of this event, PhD students and researchers will have a better understanding of project management principles and effective techniques to mitigation procrastination, setting them on the path to success in their PhD programs.
About the speaker:
Dr. Kimberly Duong, PhD is a civil engineer, project manager, and productivity/career coach for Ph.D. students. With 10+ years of project management, leadership, STEM outreach, and mentorship experience in academia, government, nonprofits, and entrepreneurship, Kimberly’s diverse background has taken her to places like Melbourne, Australia for wetlands field work and Washington, DC for science policy. Kimberly received her MS and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Irvine and her B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from UCLA. To learn more, visit itscoachkimberly.com.
