Vini Nunes Duarte | Interned @ Eli Lilly

My name is Vini and I’m a recent PhD graduate from Dr. Katherine Thompson-Peer’s lab in the Department of Developmental and Cellular Biology. I did a graduate internship at Eli Lilly and Company in the Fall 2023 quarter in Boston, MA and I’ve also done a part-time technology commercialization internship with UCI’s Research Translation Group. I’m excited to share my experiences!

Jessie Alteri | Interned @ Kite Pharma

My name is Jessie and I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Sciences in Dr. Klemens J. Hertel’s lab in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. I recently completed a summer internship at Kite Pharma in Santa Monica, CA, where I worked in Research and Development focusing on Bioinformatics and Genomics. Prior to graduate school, I completed an undergraduate internship at Trinity Biotech in Jamestown, NY, focusing on product development research. These experiences have provided me with unique insights into the differences between undergraduate and graduate internships, and I am eager to share how these opportunities have significantly enriched my professional development.

My name is Hanh and I’m a recent PhD graduate from Professor Chris Vanderwal’s lab in the Department of Physical Sciences. I did a graduate internship at Merck in the Summer 2024 quarter in West Point, PA. I’m excited to share my experiences!

Yasmeen Solano Rodriguez | Interned @ AbbVie

My name is Yasmeen Solano, and I am a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, working in Dr. Phillip Kiser’s lab. This past summer, I completed a 12-week internship at AbbVie in Irvine, CA, where I gained valuable experience in the Biologics Analytical Research group.
